1. Beyonce:
Black and white is very chic and a trend for Spring anyone can pull off. I love that Beyonce dressed up in a unique way that looked amazing.
Wishing everyone a HAPPY MARDI Gras!
Ladies, are you looking to spoil your special someone this year with a fun, yet specific gift that is right for his style & personality?
Check out these (5) fabulous ideas I have gathered, keeping him in mind, of course 🙂
Wearing color is the best way to transition into Spring even when temperatures outside still require a coat. Each season a new pantone report comes out with the most fashionable colors of the season and insight on why designers chose them. You can learn more about each color by visiting the Pantone fashion color report for Spring 2013.
This Spring the color I’m most excited about is GREEN! Green is everywhere and claims three different spots on this seasons’ pantone report.
Green is one of the easiest colors to wear and can be a very versatile addition to any wardrobe. Check out some easy ways to wear this season’s hottest hue.
GREEN JEWELRY Jade jewelry has been in vogue for ages. Not only is it a beautiful color, but it works with almost any outfit. Pair these earrings with a purple top and jeans or dress them up with your little black dress. |
|
A GREEN DRESSA green ensemble isn’t reserved just for leprechauns. Green is a universally flattering color. Simply find the shade that’s right for you. To know which color is right for you simply hold up the color next to your face. If you feel like running back to the dressing room to put on more make up you know you need a different shade of green.
A GREEN HANDBAGGive a nod to the hue of the season with a printed handbag that has a pop of green. Remember you don’t have to do a literal translation of every trend. If it’s not something you’re ready to commit to all over just do it in a small way so it makes more sense for you and your personal style.
A GREEN SHOEThis is my personal favorite way to wear green this season. A green shoe goes with everything—your favorite white jeans, a denim skirt, or an easy spring dress. Adding a pop of color with a shoe is a great way to give your outfit a dose of pizzazz. |

Here’s to your style,
Lee Heyward
You don’t have to loose those ten pounds to look and feel skinny in your clothes—You just need to know how to dress yourself skinny. There are four things you can do TODAY to instantly look thinner.
Hem your pants.
Wearing pants that are the perfect length make your legs look longer which make you look leaner. When your pants are too long they pool at the bottom cutting off the visual line of your leg, making you look longer.
Lighten your shoe.
Wearing a heavy clunky looking shoe will also visually cut off the line of the leg, making you look shorter and wider. Check out the difference a lighter more streamline shoe makes in this picture.
Get a bra fitting.
A correctly fitted bra will raise your girls adding length to your torso, making you look taller. And you guessed it, thinner. It makes a HUGE difference. I didn’t believe it until I tried it. If you haven’t had a bra fitting in the last year run to your closest lingerie boutique.
Add a fitted jacket.
Wear a jacket that gives you a waist. When you put on the right jacket it should narrow slightly at your waist. If it looks like a box it’s the wront one. Using clothing to create a narrow waist instantly slims you.
I have a strict “no crap” policy when it comes to gift giving—meaning if something isn’t going to add value or enjoyment to the giftee I consider it crap.
I think we all think like this, however around the holiday season, when you have so many gifts to purchase, it can be challenging to find gifts that are meaningful to every person on your list.
Since I make a living shopping for other people I thought you might enjoy a few tips on how to find the perfect gift for anyone on your list.
Find the Perfect Gift
Get out of your own head. Remember, the gift is not for you so shop from the perspective of the person you are giving it to. Think about their personality, how they act, and how they want to be perceived.
Ask for help! A good sales person knows the ins and outs of what they sell and can help you determine what would be a good fit for the person on your list. When in doubt, remember to ask.
Personalize It. Consider personalizing what would otherwise be an ordinary gift. Personalize a bottle of wine with a customized label or send chocolate shaped like something they love.
Dress to Impress. Package your gift with thought. Sometimes the way you wrap a gift card can make it more fun and unique. Wrap a Crate & Barrel gift card in a cool measuring cup. Or tape money on the back of a photo in a great picture frame.
Be excited. If you’re not excited about the gift (not the fact you get to cross someone off the list) it’s not the right gift. I cannot tell you how import this one is!
Happy shopping!
If you’ve ever seen the Seinfeld episode with, “The Elaine,” you know what happens at an office party can leave a lasting impression—one that isn’t always good.
When it comes to how you dance, act, and especially what you wear, you have to remember that no matter where your office party takes place, you are still at work.
When deciding what to wear, create an outfit that is fun, festive, and professional by…
Dress for the job you want. Imagine the disappointment you would feel if you were passed up for a promotion because of an inappropriate outfit you wore to last year’s holiday party. Yes, people do remember what you wear so leave the revealing and non-professional clothing at home.
Show your personality. The best part of a holiday party is getting to know your co-workers on a more personal level. Be sure to show people a little more about who you are through the details of your clothing. Ladies, if the party is right after work make your work dress more festive by adding bold jewelry and a metallic heel. Men, if the dress allows, change into a dark denim jean with a sport coat in lieu of the same old work khakis.
Be willing to ask for direction. If you aren’t sure what to wear ask someone who attended last year’s party. The venue and invitation can also give you cues as to how dressy the party may be.
When in doubt, dress up. Interpretations of holiday dress codes can leave you wondering what to wear. When in doubt strive to be overdressed—after all the goal of a holiday work party is to dress to impress. Men, if you walk in and feel overdressed simply take off your tie and remove your jacket. Ladies, remove a piece of jewelry or switch out your shoes to feel more casual.
Think outside the box. Leave your holiday themed sweaters, socks, and ties at home. Show your holiday spirit by thinking outside the box to create a festive outfit. Ladies, add festive flair to your outfit by adding a sparkly belt to a great cashmere sweater or your favorite dress. Men, try a tie in a beautiful and sophisticated color paired with a jacket made of an interesting fabric like suede, tweed, or leather.
Bring your A-game. Confidence is the best thing you can bring to an office party. Choose clothing that makes you feel good. Before deciding what you want to wear, decide how you want to feel. If you want to feel powerful, fun, and sophisticated remember that when shopping for something to wear. This ensures you don’t get talked into wearing something that doesn’t make sense for who you are and the professional image you want to portray.
