Yes, you read that right.
The skirt was leather and I was at church where there is a lot of standing up and sitting down. Well…sitting down became comical because the combination of the leather skirt, my skin, my tights, and who knows what else made a sound that sounded just like I had farted. Luckily after two skirt farts I figured out how to sit down without emitting a funny sound.
The whole situation just made me giggle. In my wildest dreams I would never have worried about a skirt that farts. So in the wise words of Tim Gunn I figured out how to “make it work!”
I share this story hopefully so you will giggle a bit and also to remind you that style is never perfect. There will always be style mishaps. (And, apparently there will be skirts that fart.) If you never try to create style you love you won’t have any funny stories, but most importantly, you won’t have a style that makes you feel confident and happy.
You don’t need a perfect body, tons of money, or an amazing fashion sense to have great style. You just have to try to have a little fun. With the New Year around the corner, I encourage you to resolve to love your style!
