Style, like life, is full of patterns. And I’m not talking about the pattern or print on your favorite dress. Your style is the reflection of patterns or habits that you have come to adopt. You always go to the same store to shop. You always wear outfit “x” for activity “y.”
Here’s the problem. When you always stick to the exact same patterns you often find that your wardrobe doesn’t really reflect who you are or what you need.
Translation: You have nothing to wear!
The trick to getting dressed quickly and easily is having what you need. Sounds like a no brainer! But, most of us really don’t have the clothing that we need for our individual lifestyle.
Think about it. Have you ever thought something like, “If I only had a heel I could walk in all day, I could make this outfit appropriate for work.” Or how about, “I don’t even want to be invited to a party because I have nothing to wear.”
I’ve got the solution! It’s a pie chart!
Think about what you do in a typical week or month.
Where do you go?
What do you do?
Now draw a circle on a piece of paper and make a pie chart that reflects how you spend your time.
In this example, going to work represents 61% of your time. You now realize that 60% of your wardrobe should be clothing that you can wear to work.
Evenings out represents 10% of your time. However, you don’t have a thing in your closet that you are excited to wear to dinner with friends. This is a red flag! Make a note to watch out for a few items (you only need a few since this represents a small percentage of your time) you would feel great in the next time you go to a nice dinner.
No matter what your pie chart looks like, if you look at your wardrobe from this perspective you will know what you need—and always have something great to wear!
More often than not, each piece of your brand image was created when you needed it, but not altogether in a strategic fashion. Your image may look fine, but does fine help you grow?
Eventually as you scale, your image foundation cracks, and the way your business presents itself no longer helps propel growth – costing you time and money to fix.
When you unlock your brand power, you get to pick and choose how people perceive you and your brand.
Our Image Mastery System™ takes the 5 key brand components that you already have and ties them together in a way that amplifies your results and achieves your vision.
